Biography

Brett began his auditing career in 2011. His expertise includes working with non-profit organizations, state and local governments, employee benefit plans, construction contractors, and small businesses. He also works with numerous Tribes in the southwest United States and state agencies within the State of New Mexico. He has extensive experience performing Single Audits for federal funding expended by Tribes, non-profit organizations, colleges, and local government agencies. Brett has extensive knowledge of the Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200), the State of New Mexico Audit Rule (2.2.2 NMAC), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (under both FASB and GASB standards), as well as the applicable auditing standards, with a focus on client service and practical solutions to complex problems.

What's the most interesting thing you've learned working in a CPA firm?
The ways a large variety of non-profit, governmental, and commercial entities operate.


What's your favorite part about working with clients?
Getting to know the people, their culture, and work environment. 


What do you like doing for fun (outside of work, of course)?
Anything involving hanging out with my wife and kids. I have two daughters that love to play dolls with me. I also like to mess around with computers and watch sports.
